If they can’t, they should not be out in the field.

Just ask them up front if they can handle the situation and about what kind of experience they have in piano tuning, technical and repair services.

We were recently gifted an Ivers & Pond upright piano from the turn of the century (1901?) that has lovely sound, but is in need of a tuning and some repair on a couple keys that no longer sound. Because of the piano’s age / make, should I be looking for a tuner that has a particular expertise or experience, or will most RPT or otherwise qualified piano tuners suffice? We’re located west of Philly in the Chester county area. Thanks very much!

There are numerous tuning hammers/wrenches that can be purchased by suppliers. What is more important is to hook up with a credible course or teacher.

I know quite a bit about autism. Piano Tuning and service can be a good field for him in certain situations though customer relations and running your own business requires a skill set that can be an extra challenge.

Learning or getting started from a credible source is imperative no matter what obstacles or disabilities your child has.
